'...[God]... will not... leave you without support...' Hebrews 13:5 AMPJasmine Cannon-Ikurusi
Everyone around you seems to find that special someone, at that exact moment that you’re all alone. It happens to everyone at some point, and it feels like being hit in the face with wet socks. If it’s happening to you, don’t you dare pick yourself apart looking for reasons that you’re single. You’re gorgeous and lovely, a total catch (Trust us. We know lots of people, and you’re our favourite). If you’re single, it probably has everything to do with what God wants from you right now. He will give you what you need, when you need it and are ready for it. If you don’t have it, you can cope without it. Song of Songs advises ‘…Don’t excite love, don’t stir it up, until the time is ripe—and you’re ready.’ [Song of Songs 2:7 TM]. That’s better love advice than Cosmo gives. The thing is, God might have stuff that He wants to work you through before He lets you find ‘The One’. So, you should use your time as a singleton to make your relationship with The Big Man rock solid, and let Him change you. Your you-God relationship should be more important to you than any girl-boy relationship anyway (and if you’ve a ‘significant other’, that’s a good opportunity for a check-up for you too).
Grab a piece of uncooked pasta, put some tomato sauce on it and try to have a nibble. Not nice? Of course not. That pasta needs some uncomfortable alone-time in a pan of boiling water before it’s ready to stir things up with the sauce. Without that time, what should be a delicious pairing just doesn’t work.
