Things are not always what it seems"

So as we all know, I got out of a really bad relationship in december, which left me broken and distraught! I was so in love! I thought I would never love again nor will I feel complete! You know when you break up with someone, all the memories play on consistently, the key thing that stuck out, was, the person saying that “I do not watch the news, so I have no intellect on what is going on around me”. It was so true actually! I was so consumed with what I do, that I forgot how the world plays a big role on our future!

This brought me to write up on this. This is very different from my style of writing and I hope you follow through till the end.

Things are not always what they seem; the first appearance deceives many; the intelligence of a few perceives what has been carefully hidden”

Have you realised now that presentations or speaking to someone face to face, has now become a tedious endeavor? We would rather text than talk on the phone, because it is awkward except I really know you well! We are in a world that revolves around technology!

The Question I Ask You Today,

Has The Invention of Technology or Better Still The Internet Been a Blessing or a Curse?

“Things are not always what they seem!”

Today many organisations are online! The biggest brands are online businesses such as Amazon, Google and Asos. There is no more the need to have an actual physical presence like a high street store.

According to National Statistics, 47% of businesses use the internet compared to 1995 where only 0.4% used the internet!

Today the internet has helped businesses in: communication, accounting, advertising, marketing, customer support, project management, product development, research and development, supply chain management and manufacturing. Overall the Internet has helped businesses save money and time. As a strategic tool, the Internet has helped business to gain a competitive advantage!

People can now start a business in their bedroom and sell their products to all aspects of the world!

SO I ASK YOU AGAIN, IS THE INTERNET A BLESSING OR A CURSE?

One person can post a bad review on the internet, and this can ruin a reputation of a business. Social media, is now influencing people's patterns and trends. Social Media is now the law abiding dictator of what is acceptable to wear and the standard by which we govern our lives!

Do we know what individualism means any more?

Due to the internet, competition has increased drastically! How can your products stand out online where China now sells over millions of the same product even cheaper?

Did you know, that there has been over 5 million losses of jobs in developing and emerging economies in the past years because the internet and technology and replacing human capabilities.

Look at McDonald's, the self service order screens. Look at many superstores like ASDa or Tesco with its self check out! Look at warehouses, robots are now packing your orders. Yes it is good for businesses to cut out costs but how about the people?

SO I ASK YOU AGAIN, IS THE INTERNET A BLESSING OR A CURSE?

Information History:

First we had only oral communication, through stories and people telling us what was fact!

Second we had books so we were able to read and inscription. But there was only one copy of the books, so we had to depend on experts to tell us or be lucky enough to read the original manuscript!

Third comes the invention of the printing press! Now copies can be distributed in masses amounts!

Lastly the creation of the Internet!

WAS THE CREATION OF THE INTERNET REALLY A FORM OF EDUCATING OUR NATION AND BUILDING A PROFITABLE WORLD? OR HAS IT LOST ITS PURPOSE?

HAS GOOGLE NOW BECOME OUR LORD AND SAVIOR?

Hasn’t the internet taken the true essence of education and made us decapitated?

We are now unable to use our own intellect?

Has the Internet helped our world or just helped rich people become richer?

Social Interaction has now depreciated! Did you know that 46% of the world, spend more time with the internet, than with human interaction!

The world economy is even slowing down! Oil prices are depreciating! Wasn’t the Internet, or better still “global village”, meant to help with this chaos?

SO I ASK YOU AGAIN, IS THE INTERNET A BLESSING OR A CURSE?

A platform to voice out your opinion and be heard! Or a governing body, that dictates our behaviour patterns, trends, attitudes and lifestyle!

DO WE EVEN KNOW WHO WE ARE INDIVIDUALLY OR ARE WE INBOUNDED IN A PRIME NUMBER DIGITAL ERA; WHERE OTHERS NOW DICTATE OUR ATTRIBUTES AND IDENTITIES?

“Things are not always what they seem!”

The Question I Ask You Today,

Has The Invention of Technology or Better Still The Internet Been a Blessing or a Barrier to Human Intellect, Intelligence and Integration?

WHY DON’T YOU BE THE JUDGE!
