Feeling Stuck?

I am writing this and I still have not reached my final destination. You won't believe the days I have had of lately. It has been one roller coaster after another. It has been a struggle to leave Nigeria to get back home to London. I have just recently got this new job as a HR manager graduate scheme for Pizza Hut. So I am trying to make a good impression and get back home in time. However this has proven to be a mere impossibility. Due to the absurd weather conditions multiple flights have been cancelled and major airports have been closed.

The story began on Sunday night when we managed to get a flight from Abuja to London. The struggle to check in our suitcases alone was chaos. There was news circulating the airport that flights have not left since Thursday. The airport was crawling from the north to the east with people sleeping on chairs for their next flight. The more people I saw the more my heart began to skip a beat! The anticipation and tension began to build within me. However it turned out that we were able to make our flight. We checked in after hours of waiting. We then had a final goodbye to our mother and began to head home to London. As we got upstairs to the boarding gate, we began to hear troubling news. Due to the backlog of passengers; we had to sit and wait whilst the Friday flight go first. Our flight was to leave at 23:15.

Two - three hours went by but no news! Chaos began to consume the atmosphere. You could see the anger saturate the room! No news! We began to panic! We had no Nigerian number so we could not call our parents to come back to get us as the flights were being cancelled! We could not get through to anyone! My anxiety began to get intensified! I could not imagine myself sleeping in an airport! The sweat began to absorb my already dysfunctional shirt. 4 hours went by and then we heard what we long for! We heard the words "your plane is here, you can now board your plane. It is now 1.45am; we are all seated. An hour - 2 hours went by but we were still seated! Not a sound! Not a word! We sat like preys waiting to be eaten. We sat like sitting ducks waiting in anticipation.

When do we leave?

I have never in my whole life encountered such madness! It's so bad that I watched an entire movie and a half before we eventually took off. 4.45am we set off to Istanbul to transit to London. The entire flight as you can imagine was filled with countless ups and downs as the storms threw us left and right. I fall asleep only to be woken by a disturbing announcement!

What is it?

We are told that the Istanbul airport is closed until further notice as it is heavily snowing! Therefore the plane had to land in this deserted city that I cannot even begin to pronounce! What a day! We are told we would wait 2/3 hours then would be transported to another plane. 5 hours go by after countless wars and uproars! We are told to board a bus that would take us to the plane. To our amazement we are brought to the immigration border to get visas and enter the country. We are told that we would have to stay in hotels as there are no flights till further notice!

Lol This reminds me of a movie I watched! Being stuck in the middle of nowhere!

What do you do when faced in a situation like this? What do you do when you are stuck? What do you do when it seems like there is no way out? What do you do when all doors seem to be closed? What do you do in the midst of a storm?

We need to get home as I have a pile of work to catch up with but most of all a legacy is waiting to be born! The very heir that would start a generation is at the finger tip of time! We need to be home so that we can usher in a dynasty! We need to be home so that we can crown a heir! We need to get home but we can't? Why? Because we are stuck!

What do you do in the midst of obstacles?

What do you do when all the odds are against you? What do you do when you have no resources to go on? What do you do when you have no energy left? What do you do when you are in a foreign land with no idea of what tomorrow looks like?

Do you remain stuck or do you keep pushing? Do you remain in the same stuck position of do you utilize your time to the maximum efficiency?

What do you do when one problem comes and 10 more follow after?

Do you feel stuck? Do you feel like there is nowhere out? Are you drowning in debt? Are you stuck in a job you don't particularly enjoy? Are stuck on one idea? Are you stuck in a place you don't belong? Do you feel this encompassing emptiness? Do you feel like something or someone is missing?

Do you want to remain stuck or do you want to start digging?

It is now 1am. Day 4! I am on the plane as we speak attempting to make that trip to Istanbul.

Look out for part two next week Tuesday!
